ETS Opening Service 2019

The ETS Opening Service took place at St Columba’s Free Church of Scotland on Monday 2nd September 2019.

The service was chaired by the Principal Iver Martin. Staff and students, both new and returning, were joined by a sizeable crowd of families and friends for the special occasion. Rousing singing was followed by a couple of students, Rachel Sloan and Geoff Murray being interviewed about what life is like as ETS students.

It was our sincere privilege to have Liam Garvie, Associate Pastor at Charlotte Chapel delivering the opening address. Charlotte Chapel is one of a number of churches from whom we are privileged to have students at ETS.

Focusing on Paul’s words in Romans 11:33-36, Liam Garvie gave a powerful and passionate address which stressed the importance of adoration as the consequence of the study of theology.

It was a highly relevant theme which provided much needed stimulus to staff and students on the threshold of a new session.

ETS is immensely grateful for the many friends who give continuous support and encouragement. Many thanks to everyone who attended.  Please pray that staff and students would know the directing hand of God as they continue to prepare for a life-long mission of serving the Lord.

A video recording of the service and Liam Garvie’s fantastic address will be available next week. Keep an eye out on our social media channels on Facebook and Twitter for further information.
