The annual Awards Ceremony is a highlight in the ETS calendar, marking the conclusion of the academic year. Students — both continuing and graduating — come together with family and friends to celebrate their achievements, reflect on the past year, and meet one another one last time before the summer break.
The occasion provides an important opportunity to give thanks to the Lord for his provision and to recognise the hard work undertaken by students, often over several years of study. This year’s ceremony, on Friday 8th May, was no exception, with family and friends travelling from far and wide to attend.
Alongside the presentation of graduation awards and certificates, prizes were awarded to students who had particularly excelled in various disciplines.
Two students, Chris De Waal and Chris Turner, also spoke warmly about their time at ETS. The evening further marked an opportunity for ETS Principal, Iver Martin, to pay tribute to the contribution of Dr Zachary Purvis, who had served as Lecturer in Church History and Systematic Theology since 2021 and is now returning to the USA with his family.
The evening concluded with Principal Martin’s address on Isaiah 6, in which he stressed the centrality of the glory of God as the primary motivation for ministry. We warmly congratulate all of our students on their hard work and achievements.
