This annual Lecture in Evangelism was inaugurated in 1994 in memory of the late Professor J Douglas MacMillan.

The 2018 lecture was held on Tuesday January 30, 2018 at 2.00 pm in the Chalmers Hall. Our guest lecturer was Rev Iain MacAskill, Stirling Free Church.

Iain was born in North Uist and his wife Ann comes from South Uist. After they were both converted through the same sermon on Zacchaeus, Iain and Ann felt a burden to plant a new church in the Uists. For 12 years they ministered in South Uist and Benbecula.

God then called them along with their daughter Kathryn to serve in Rosskeen Free Church and a new church was soon planted in Alness: the Capstone Centre. The MacAskills served for six and a half years in Rosskeen where Iain also was chaplain to Ross County Football Club.

In 2016, Iain was called to be the first minister of the newly planted church in Stirling. He has travelled to Moldova, Peru and India.

Iain has a passion for the gospel and God has blessed his ministry with the conversion of many to Christ.
